Pete Seibert had a lifelong dream to develop and own a major ski resort and pursued that dream with Colorado's famed Vail Resort.

He was a member in the 10th Mountain Division of ski troopers seeing heavy action resulting in his being wounded three times.  Following the war he spent time as a ski instructor and was a highly competitive racer.  He instructed at Freidl Pfeiffer's ski school in Aspen.  He won the Roch Cup in 1949 and was third in the giant slalom at the national championships.  he was picked for th U.S. FIS Team in 1950.

For a time he managed Loveland Basin and Aspen Highlands but from 1960 to 1977 was the President of Vail Corporation and the catalyst behind Vail's development.  He served as the National Ski Areas Association's President for two years.
