U.S. NATIONAL SKI AND SNOWBOARD HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM, INC. RECEIVES GRANT FROM
SUMMIT COUNTY RESTAURANT TAX GRANT PROGRAM
Annual Announcement and Induction Scheduled for March 2024
(ISHPEMING, MI) – The U.S. National Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. will host its
annual week long industry gathering in Park City, UT, in March 2024. The event boasts eleven
parties and gatherings across five days and features on-snow tours, fashion shows, and the
induction ceremony honoring the eight-member Hall of Fame Class of 2023. This event typically
draws 1400 attendees bringing a substantial economic impact to the host city. The Hall of Fame
received funding from the Summit County Restaurant Tax grant to help fund a portion of the
operational and marketing expenses required to host an event of this magnitude.
As part of a longstanding program that was implemented in 1991, the primary purpose of the
Restaurant Tax Grant is to promote tourism as set out by the Utah State Statute and the County
Council. The program is funded by a 1% tax on all restaurant sales in the county, which was
implemented by the Summit County Commission thirty-two years ago to promote tourism in the
area.
“Election as an Honored Member of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame is the highest honor
in snowsports in America. Since 1956 the National Hall of Fame has been recognizing individuals
for their achievements and contributions as athletes and snowsports builders,” stated Justin Koski,
Executive Director, U.S. National Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. “We are excited
to bring our annual celebration back to Park City and Summit County as this is a natural fit. We
truly appreciate the support of the local community and are confident that this event will have a
tremendous, immediate economic impact in Summit County.”
The Class of 2023 group chosen represents some of the greatest athletes and snow sport pioneers
in America who will now compete in a national vote in August to determine the winners.
Successful candidates will then be inducted on March 23, 2024, at the Black Rock Mountain Resort
in Park City, Utah.
