Cal Conniff was involved in countless projects for the betterment of skiing in the United States. He was an active skier during his high school and college days and enjoyed a three year career with his own television ski show in Massachusetts. Following that he moved into active ski area management as vice president and general manager of Mount Tom in Holyoke, Mass. for 14 years. He was the executive director of the National Ski Areas Association from 1973 to 1990 taking it from its fledgling roots to becoming a highly respected ski industry organization. He enjoyed a productive 33 year career in skiing and helped introduce tens of thousands of people to the sport.
