Lawrence Maurin was a cross country skier and ski jumper who is remembered as a writer and promoter of ski sports.  He attended both the 1960 and 1964 Olympic Games representing the USSA as an official for his two skiing disciplines.

During World War Two he served with the 87th Mountain Infantry.  After the war he joined the National Ski Patrol and earned a Yellow Merit Star in 1947.  He was made a lifetime member of the Norge Ski Club in Chicago.
