Barney McNabb was an enthusiastic skier and worked throughout his life to make it less hazardous for everyone.  With some friends, he established in 1937 the first ski patrol at Mount Hood, a first for a major ski area.  He became chair of the Pacific North West division of the National Ski Patrol and was the holder of NSP badge #17.  His enthusiasm was infectious and he was a persuasive player contributing to the growth of the sport.
