Art Knudson is remembered best by the ski world for his artisttc and promotional skills which he applied to supporting skiing.
An active ski jumper for 22 years he was a lifetime member of the Racine Ski Club and numerous other ski clubs throughout the mid west. He served as the President of the Racine Ski Club for many years and was a central division officer for 39 years eventually becoming the CUSSA's first director emeritus.
He used his considerable creative skills to create ski team sales booths at which he and his wife would sell ski team pins and other paraphernalia. His annual pins sales at events around the country would average $4,000 all for the support of the US Ski Team. He also provided signage and exhibit graphics for the Ski Hall of Fame.
He volunteered for the 1959 North American Championships, the 1960 Olympic Winter Games in Squaw Valley, the FIS championships in 1970 and the Olympic Games in Lake Placid in 1980.
