Greg’s ski career extends from Aspen ski instructor and patroller, to two-time EMMY honoree who covered multiple Olympics and scores of World Cups as a TV commentator and producer for NBC, CBS, Turner, ESPN, HBO, CTV, GGP, OLN, IMG, and the IOC (Official Film, Sarajevo 1984). He broadcast Alpine World Cup, Freestyle, Jumping, Cross-Country, and Snowboard events, working from Europe, North America, Asia, and South America. He wrote and narrated films for Jalbert Productions; wrote national magazine features on Billy Johnson and Phil Mahre; and created and managed the ATT Skiing Award for more than two decades. From 1972-1975, he was head of communications for Bob Beattie’s WorldWide Ski Company (World Pro Skiing and NASTAR). He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Skiing History Association in 2015. Sports Illustrated honored Lewis as a “Hometown Hero,” for his humanitarian work in Sarajevo during the Bosnian War, in 1993.
