Gloria Chadwick contributed greatly to the American ski scene starting with her Class "A" alpine racing days in the 1950s.  She was team manager for several U.S. Olympic and FIS teams, and in 1980 was named race secretary to the Lake Placid Winter Olympic Games.  In 1967, while serving as executive secretary for the USSA, she worked with Burt Boyum, Harold Grinden and others to publish "A History of the USSA."  During the early 1970s she was director of marketing for Big Sky Ski Area, Montana, and then became general manager for Burke Mountain, Vermont in 1975.  Her administrative capabilities led to her becoming Commissioner of Economic Development for the State of Vermont.  From 1985 until her death she served as the Director of the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Marquette, Michigan.
