Born: 1897   Died: 1980, Alexander (Alec) Bright had a brilliant record in the downhill and slalom. He was the U.S. Eastern Amateur Ski Association downhill champion in 1935 and raced in the downhill as a member of the 1936 U.S. Olympic Team. Deeply devoted to his sport he served several associations and was responsible for many progressive rule changes. He was regarded as an outstanding sportsman and a strong advocate for amateur sport in the United States.
