Rhona Wurtele

Rhona Wurtele Gillis was the twin sister to Rhoda Wurtele and both twins were highly regarded and successful skiers who competed in North America in the late 1940's and 1950's.  Excelling in the slalom and combined she won U.S. national titles in 1946, the combined title in 1947 and the GS title in 1952.  It was said that what she did not win her sister Rhoda did.

Both women did much to cement relationships between Canadian and American skiers during this period.
