Suzy H. Rytting

Suzy Rytting won many races in the late 1940's and 1950's including two national championships.  In 1948 she won the national combined title with strong races in the downhill and the slalom.  She also won the Harriman Cup title in the giant slalom.  In the years that followed she enjoyed numerous wins and titles in races throughout the western United States.  In 1951 she took the national giant slalom title. 

She was named as an alternate on the 1948 Olympic Team and competed on the 1950 FIS team and the 1952 Olympic team.  For nearly a decade later she was still racing successfully winning the Pacific North-West titles in the downhill, slalom and the combined in 1961.

After her competitive career she remained active in skiing coaching at the junior level and serving as Honorary Chair for the Jimmy Huega Charity Ski Race in 1987.
