Robert Parker

Bob Parker has been directly involved with some of the more historic and significant developments in American skiing.

In his youth he was both an alpine skier and ski jumper and was taught and coached by the famous Otto Schneibs while he was attending St. Lawrence University.  He was a member of the 10th Mountain Division publishing a book about his experiences.  While a member of the Aspen Ski Patrol he spent a vacation in France and passed the demanding French National Alpine School Instructors exam.  During the mid-1950's he was the editor of Skiing Magazine and gave emphasis to the promotion of ski safety and the work of the PSIA.

As vice president and marketing director he worked with Pete Seibert in the founding and development of Vail.  He created many celebrity events that drew national attention to the area.  After retiring in 1985 he conceived and led a U.S. Ambassadorial Ski Mission to China.
