Hal O'Leary

Hal O'Leary was a ski instructor at Winter Park in Colorado when he volunteered in 1969 to prepare a program for a group of amputees who were expected at the ski area.  This turned into a passion that, since 1969 has become one of the world's leading and most respected programs for children and adults with disabilities who wish to earn how to ski.  Annually the program provides 400 hours of instruction to 1,000 skiers.

In 1976, O'Leary published the booklet, The Winter Park Amputee Teaching System.  In 1988 he wrote the book: Bold Tracks: Skiing for the Disabled.
