Born: August 27, 1975 San Juan, Puerto Rico
An Olympic Champion, Jonny Moseley is a very talented and charismatic skier who literally turned his sport on its ear, opening the door to off axis, and eventually inverted jumps in Moguls competition. As a youth he skied the full range of the freestyle disciplines winning the Junior National Championships in both the moguls and combined in 1991 and 1992. Eventually the moguls became his first love and specialty. He won his first World Cup event, in 1995 and was the first American Olympic moguls champion winning in 1998. His innovative 360 degree mute grab move placed him a full point ahead of the second place finisher. At the 2002 Olympic Winter Games he successfully landed his unique "dinner roll" off axis jump. Over his career, besides his Olympic Gold medal he claimed four World Cup overall titles, 15 World Cup wins and was a bronze medalist at the 1995 World Championships.
