Graham Anderson's volunteer contributions to ski sport and his active participation marked him as one of the top contributors to the sport's development in North America. From a start as a junior competitor in the Pacific north west he rose to become the President of the PNSA. He served in many capacities with the USSA including two years as president. He was regarded by FIS as one of the world's top authorities on alpine skiing. Through his insurance agency he contributed to skier safety to ski resorts across the United States.
Graham Anderson served as the USA representative on the FIS downhill and slalom committee from 1966 to 1989. He also was vice president of the Alpine Committee for many years. For his contributions he was presented with the Blegen Award by the USSA in 1979.
