T. Gary Allen was regarded as the complete skier and sportsman.  He was involved in all aspects of skiing, including 17 years coaching hundreds of junior skiers and influencing legends like Penny Pitou and Marty Hall.  He supervised the installation of the snowmaking and grooming system for the ski jumps at the 1980 Olympic Games in Lake Placid and served as the Assistant Chief of Competition as well.  Between 1967 and 1980 he was Chief of Competition at several regional, national and international events.
